It is the first week of the New Year, a perfect time to look ahead and see what is planned for 2016. The first half of 2016 will be major important for Chantal, who needs to finish of her Master’s degree and write her thesis. This has some impact on our travel plans but there is enough time to take a few smaller trips.
January – The Netherlands
The first few days of 2016 did start, just as 2015 has ended, with our family and friends in the Netherlands. We try to go back as often as possible, but we are fortunate that our family comes and visits us in Australia as well.
March – Broken Hill, NSW, Australia
We are using the Easter long weekend as an excuse to go on a mini road trip, 4 nights away from home is not a bad deal. We have been in Broken Hill before, and for us the feeling of outback Australia is starting as soon as we see red dirt. So spending some time in the area of this mining town in New South Wales is going to be great.
June – USA and Canada
A few months ago we came across a deal from the website Trip A Deal, which was impossible to ignore, 10 Days east coast USA and Canada. 10 Days will be short and we expect to have a full program, but we (read Chantal) cannot afford to have more time off. In these 10 days we are going to see two big ticketed items on our travel wish list, New York and the Niagara Falls.
October – Wilsons Promontory, VIC, Australia
In one of our previous posts we did write how much we like this part of Victoria, in fact it is one of our favourite spots. This time instead of roughing it we booked a cabin, we will be staying here for two nights with Chantal’s parents who visit us for 2,5 weeks.
November & December – Austalia, Road Trip
We are currently in the process of organising our seven week long road trip to Western Australia. We are not planning much of this trip, since we love the idea of not having anything in our calendars, but things as leave need to be approved. We will keep you posted about our plans and preparation as soon as we have more information.
These are our travel plans for 2016 as for now, but you never know what else might come along.
